Our current weekly selection of delicious Washington Wine and Beer!!
Bartholomew – Sauvignon Blanc
Rattlesnake Hills / Konoowac Vineyard
This wine has citrus notes similar to a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, and gooseberry flavors familiar to those produced in Bordeaux. Made in a stainless steel tank to keep it crisp, like spring-time in a glass. 73 case production
Auxerrois / Yakima Valley
Lobo Hills is the only winery in the state of Washington to produce Auxerrois, a varietal often compared to pinot blanc and chardonnay. The grapes come from Inland Desert Vineyard, which is the nursery site that supplies cuttings and vines to vineyards in Washington and Oregon. This is the only site in Washington to grow Auxerrois. This wine, cool fermented and aged sur lie for 7 months, exudes aromas of pear, lemon rind, grapefruit and stone. Production: 75 cases
WAITSBURG CELLARS – Three White
Columbia Valley / Boushey
62% Grenach Blanc and Picpoul, 38%Marsanne
This wine is aromatic, dry, and detailed. The first impression in both nose and mouth is of lemon cream. White peach, pink grapefruit, and Meyer lemon fruit flavors continue with a lovely soft creamy mouth feel. The finish is long and crisp with a nice balance of minerality.
LOVE OREGON – Pinot Noir
On the nose Raspberries and dusty tea. Followed by a soft medium weight mouthfeel and notes of red plum, cherry, and marrionberry ending in a long clean finish with notes of hibiscus.
HENCE CELLARS – Cab Franc
This lovely Cab opens with a juicy, hint of strawberry, toasty nose and then warms to cherry, plum and blackberry flavors. The finish is dusty blueberry, plum and mocha.
MARK RYAN – Long Haul Merlot
Yakima Valley / Red Willow
2016 Long Haul is composed primarily of Merlot from Yakima Valley’s Red Willow Vineyard. With an average vine age of 25 years, and planted on ancient soils that were above the Missoula ‑floods, Red Willow Merlot offers a savory aromatic profile and a complex depth and intensity on the palate Long Haul offers plum, cassis, and savory aromatic profiles on the nose that morphs into a lush entrance of black fruit, caramel, tea, and earth. Silky, velvety tannins combine with mid-palate structure and acidity that leads into a lengthy finish.
